The 21 st century is an era of mutual benefit and win-win,and international exchange is indispensable.The intercommunication of information can help countries learn from each other and make progress together.With the heat of Olympic Games rising,sports management caused widespread concern in many countries.In this translation practice,the author is entrusted by Jilin Koito Dongguang Automobile Lamp Co.,Ltd.,to translate the sports management textbooks issued in foreign countries.It involves the background knowledge of the sports industry as well as management skills.The purpose is to draw on its management experience and promote the development of related industries in China.On the basis of this practice,the author completes this translation practice report.Sports management text is a kind of documental material that sets sports management as the core and introduces operation and management of sports industry,event organization,investment analysis as well as marketing communication.This kind of texts intend to train excellent personnel on administration and management in sports and fields related.In this practice,the original text contains a variety of sports terminology,abbreviations,clipping words,management professional terminology and so on,which makes it much more professional.This report is based on the three norms of Toury's Translation Norms Theory: preliminary norms,initial norms and operational norms,which are applied to the specific examples in the translation,to analyze the feasibility of this translation theory during the translation process.In this practice,the author should take full account of the difference between English and Chinese norms and make the best choice according to the actual situation.In addition,the author should also take into account the operational norms,which means that on the basis of maintaining the original meaning,make appropriate adjustments on the structure,the words and phrases.Ultimately,under the guidance of the three norms,the author should complete the translation version with high integrity and readability.The report consists of four chapters.The first chapter is mainly an introduction about the translation tasks,including the background,the features of text and the requirements of the client.The second chapter gives an overview of the translation process,including preparation before translation,translation implementation and proofreading.The third chapter is the core part of the report,making an analysis on the translation process based on preliminary norms,initial norms and operational norms.The fourth chapter is a summary of the author's experience and acquisition in this translation practice.Guided by Theory of Translation Norms,this report systematically analyzes the application of the theory in practice and summarizes the problems,draws lessons and experience.This report not only deepens the author's understanding of sports management,but also provides a reference for the future work of translation.
