Gejiu dialect belongs to the division of southwest Mandarin.Reduplication is an important grammatical method of Gejiu dialect.The subjects of this paper are two special overlapping numeral-classifier phrases in Gejiu dialect—— "ABB" phrase and "B shi B" phrase.In this paper,on the basis of description,we also try to make a comparison among the overlapping numeral-classifier phrases in Gejiu dialect,modern Chinese and some minority languages,such as Yi language and Hani language.As a result,this paper aims to find out some characteristics of the reduplication in the typology.This paper can be divided into three parts:The first part is an introduction.It introduces the basis of our topic,research content and scope.It includes the previous research achievements,the theory and method,the source of language material and some other points to be noticed.As a result,we can clarify the theoretic and practical significance of this research.The second part as the core of the whole paper can be subdivided into four parts.Chapter 1 is an overview of the overlapping numeral-classifier phrases in Gejiu dialect.In chapter 2 and 3,we will describe the "ABB" phrase and "B shi B" phrase in detail.We describe the two phrases in three aspects: grammar,semantics and pragmatics.In this part,based on the description we would borrow the cognitive perspective to analyze the different semantic features of these numeral-classifier phrases.In chapter 4,we will make a comparison among the overlapping numeral-classifier phrases in Gejiu dialect,modern Chinese,Yi language and Hani language.The third part is the conclusion.The conclusion sums up the whole paper and point out the problems to be studied.
