From “Feat”to“Education”: A Study On The Concept Of Xunli In The Han Dynasty

The "Xunli" was first proposed by Sima Qian in the Han Dynasty,its specific content varies with time in different periods.In view of the fact that the social contradictions caused by in the period of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty.Sima Qian put forward the concept of "Feng Zhi Xun Li",and made "Xunli biography" to express their political views.Han-shu written by Ban Gu and "Houhanshu" written by Fan Ye inherited the style but its specific connotation had changed,Ban Gu believes that Xunli should ensure people’s lives and teach people.Fan Ye selected officials who could develop production,consolidate the basic social order and run educational programs to bring culture to the masses in order to make dominionof government deep into the grassroots level.These are known as the Xunli could combine education in enriching people in order to change existing habits and customs.The concept of Xunliwas in line with national requirements and conform to the interests of the people of the governing philosophy,which reflected the unity of social development and national governing idea.
