Interpreting fluency has always been mentioned by the scholars and experts in interpreting field.Despite fluency is less significant than accuracy,logic and integrity of the message in terms.It still matters a lot when it comes to interpreting quality.Lack of fluency will negatively affect the experience of the audience and undermine the confidence of interpreters as well.This thesis is a case study based on the 2016 APEC Lima Summit Mock Forum.Given the fact the author had understood the logic and most details,disfluency still existed.Thus,this thesis included the forms,causes of the disfluency.And the author gave several solutions based on the analysis of the causes.The results show that there are mainly 3 forms of the disfluency.The first one is filled pauses,including fillers and the repetition of certain characters and words.The second form is silent pauses lasting over 0.3 seconds.The third one is backtracking.The author lists several examples of the three forms and analyzes the causes of them respectively.There are three main causes related to note-taking,the expression of C hinese,self-monitoring.Therefore,interpreters can improve the fluency by solving related problems.
