| The procedure of consecutive interpreting includes three stages: "comprehension"," deverbalization " and " expression",and listening comprehension is the essential first step.In order to improve the quality of listening comprehension during interpreting between Arabic and Chinese,and to ensure the smooth progress of interpreting,it is necessary to solve the problems of listening discrimination.This paper begins with the introduction of the process of interpreting between Arabic and Chinese,and the analysis of the implementation of listening comprehension,then expounds the difficulties of Arabic listening comprehension by analyzing Arabic language features and its expressing habits.The paper studies the possible problems of Arabic listening comprehension through the analysis of a case which the author interprets a speech given by a participant at the graduation ceremony of 2016 Jordanian workshop hosted by Chinese Ministry of Commerce.The author basically interpreted the source language content,but there are still some errors and omissions.By analyzing the errors and inaccuracies of the interpreted language,the author has summed up the obstacles of listening comprehension into three types: pronunciation recognition obstacle,sentence comprehension obstacle and text comprehension obstacle,and also put forward the nonverbal reasons of listening comprehension obstacles.Then analyses examples of wrong interpretations to improve the interpreted words to a more accurate level.In view of the three types of listening comprehension obstacles,this paper proposes the corresponding strategies to deal with language problems and nonverbal problems which include the Arabic dialect listening comprehension,long complicated sentences analysis,paragraph analysis,predicting training and the nonverbal coping strategies,so as to provide help for the interpreters to improve the ability of listening,understanding and to improving the quality of interpreted language. |
