To comprehensively implement the strategy of "One Belt,One Road",the State Administration of Press,Publication,Radio,Film and Television, together with Fujian and Shaanxi Provincial Governments, sponsor the Silk Road International Film Festival in 2014.Luckily,I had the opportunity to participate in the second and third film festivals, and thus was engaged in a large quantity of translation tasks.By detailed analysis of the translated texts, which are hereby divided into three catagories, namely, introductory, communicative and speech texts, the report mainly discusses the possibility of improving translation quality under the guidance of the Functional Equivalence Theory.Furthermore, based on the above analysis, the author also explores the issue of professionalization of film festival related translation.Feasible advice put forward by the author for translators includes the following:being a professional;paying attention to both daily preparation and pre-task preparation;making practice, feedback, reflection and summing-up a favorable spiral;keeping improving both English and Chinese competence with special attention paid to the rhetoric;promoting theoretical attainment;building self-confidence and nurturing sense of value.Hopefully, this report may be of referential value for later translation practice related to international film festivals, and help translators to move a step forward towards the way of professionalization.
