The Comparison Of Different Aesthetic Experience Between Novel And The Musical Film

Although the relationship between fiction and film is not a new topic of aesthetics,there still remains some questions about that.For example,why contemporary audiences prefer film to fiction?Is Movies primarily a by-product of technological development?Should people easily accept that the film and television medium is the mainstream?These issues are worth pondering and exploring.This paper is mean to analysis the issues above in-depth in the angle of aesthetic experience.Dufrenne divides the experience into three phases:the presentation phase,the representation(constitution)phase,and the performance(evaluation)phase.The aesthetic experience can be regarded as the presentation stage in the aesthetic experience.In Dufrenne's view,artistic works exist firstly for the flesh in order to highlight the importance of aesthetic experience.This paper takes " Les Miserables "as an example,analysis the structural features of the novel and the film,and get the different experience while enjoy them.First of all,this paper demonstrated that in the presentation stage as well the aesthetic experience stage movie is more attractive than the novel.Secondly,combining with biology,anthropology and based on the changes in social environment to explain why film is more attractive for human in aesthetic activities.Finally,from the point of view of complete aesthetic experience,this paper affirms that both novels and films are have irreplaceable aesthetic value,and then calmly reflect on the social issues that may be caused by the excessive emphasis on aesthetic experience of film and television medium.
