The Destructiveness In Creative Treason

Creative Treason is a common phenomenon in cross-cultural translation activities.It is the product and the external manifestation of the exchange and game between heterogeneous cultures.The "destructiveness" of Creative Treason refers to the breakthrough and change to the original cultural structure and framework.Especially,at the early stage of cultural exchange when the severe collision may occur,a devastating reforming force has been born and accumulated to shift the paradigm of the culture.Thus,the development of the target culture may have multiple choices of forward and/or transition.To some extent,the "destructiveness" of Creative Treason has a close relationship with its creativity.From its origin,the "destructiveness" of Creative Treason is formed by many factors.First of all,translation is actually the process of textual meaning generation.Furthermore,the generating of textual meaning is the process in which the text is to be understood and interpreted.It is also the continuous dialogue and exchange between the text and the translator/the reader.It is based on the pre-understanding and prejudice of the translator and the reader from the target language.And such understanding is historic and dynamic.This is an important reason that Creative Treason emerges continuously.Secondly,Creative Treason is an external manifestation of the polyphonic performance of the author,the translator and the reader,and so forth.This polyphonic performance appears in the form of dialogue.Among these participants,the translator's subjectivity plays an important role.Thirdly,Creative Treason is not only an act of power construction,but also a re-creation activity restricted by the discourses of the dual powers(i.e.the power discourses owned by the author and the translator),a kind of "rewriting".Finally,Creative Treason is of great value to the history of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.By translation activities and Creative Treason,we can anticipate that heterogeneous cultures will come closer and eventually move towards the great integration and coexistence.This thesis is divided into six parts altogether:The introduction elaborates from the present situation,the research method,the research goal and the significance of domestic and foreign research and the structures of these thesis.The first chapter explores the meaning of "destructiveness" inside Creative Treason.This chapter discusses and analyzes both the meaning creation and its hermeneutics understanding.The second chapter attempts to explore the relationship between Creative Treason and inter-subjectivity,putting forward the conversational polyphonic playing relationship between the author and the translator/reader,and highlighting the significance of translator's subjectivity.The third chapter discusses the relationship between Creative Treason and the construction of the power structure,and tries to prove that the Creative Treason is the re-creation activities under the restriction of power construction and the double power discourses.The fourth chapter discusses the value of Creative Treason and the trend of cultural integration and coexistence from the perspective of the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.In the conclusion,this thesis reconfirms the positive meaning of "destructiveness" of Creative Treason.
