Wei Yingwu was an outstanding and unique poet in the Tang Dali Period,therefore,many famous critics had a lot of classic comments on Wei Yingwu's poems and deeds such as Bai Juyi?Su Shi?Yan Yu?Hu Yinglin?Xu Xueyi and so on.In the Qing dynasty,people loved to talk about poetry,which highly developed and entered the summary period.The poetic critics have made manifold studies on Wei Yingwu's poems,that manily about his poetry origins,the comparison with other poets,the artistic features and genre,etc.They made a further exploration of Wei Yingwu's poems on the basis of the predecessors and boldly announced new perspectives,what's more,even overturned previous ideas that in certain degree,restore the original appearance of Wei Yingwu's poems which make us have a deeper understanding of Wei Yingwu's poems.This study tries to analyse the poetic criticism of Wei in the Qing dynasty and highlights representative and controversial views from the angle of history of literary reception which mainly based on the poetics of Qing dynasty and partially based on the previous poetics.The thesis is divided into three parts which covers Wei Yingwu's poetry origins,the comparison with Liu Zongyuan and the artistic features.The first chapter is the analysis about the poetry origins in the poetics of Qing dynasty.They hold that Wei Yingwu had learned from Tao Yuanming,Xie Lingyun,Xie Tiao and ancient poetry duiring Han and Wei.The study about Wei's poetry origins in Qing dynasty was more objective and more specific.This part combe and analyses their views in an attempt to have a deep understanding of Wei's poetry origins.The second chapter discusses the comparison with Liu Zongyuan in the poetic criticism of Qing dynasty.It has always been a noticeable phenomenon that about the comparison between Wei and Liu in the history of literary which reached a climax in Qing dynasty.In this part,firstly,it makes a review of previous comments on comparing Wei Yingwu to Liu Zongyuan.Secondly,sum up the discussion about the differences and similarities between Wei and Liu.Finally,summarizes and analyzes the views and attitudes of critics in Qing dynasty to the comparison between Wei Yingwu and Liu Zongyuan in order to have a deep and correct view of who is relative superiority or inferiority.The third chapter is about the artistic features of Wei Yingwu's poems.Most of critics in Qing dynasty set a hight value on the "Qing" and "Dan" of his poems,for example,Wang Shizhen highly praised the "Qing" and "Dan" of Wei Yingwu's poems in his writings of Dai jing tang shi hua.However,the comments was not all affirmative,a few of them criticized Wei Yingwu's poems as the negative effect of the"Qing" and "Dan" of Wei Yingwu's poems which make us have a more comprehensive and objective understanding of his artistic features.
