After the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China in 1949,due to the political and social situation influence,there was an unprecedented flourishing of the Soviet-Chinese relations,including the field of fine arts.In 1953 China sent students of art to the Soviet Union to learn,in 1955 the Soviet government also sent fine arts experts to China to assist in the training of painting personnel.This article focuses on three aspects to research influence of Soviet painting on Chinese oil painting and agitational posters in the middle of the twentieth century.Firstly,reconstruct the historical context of the Soviet-Chinese relations.Secondly,explore process of establishing a Chinese modern system of oil painting teaching and the role of Soviet specialists in it.Thirdly,examine representing Soviet school painters’artworks.This paper also tries to detect positive and negative affect of that Soviet-Chinese relations in art.
