The Korean people and the Chinese Korean people originally belonged to the same race. However, during the liberation period, they became nationals of different countries in different countries. Then how is the formation process of their national identity sensed in literary works? What are the common points and differences between the two?Starting from the above problem consciousness, this paper did a comparative study of the novel Land by North Korea's famous writer Lee Gi-young and the novel The Tiger Cliff by Li Genquan,a famous Chinese Korean writer. At present, the research on Li Genquan and his literature mainly focuses on the external factors of the literature, such as the historical background of the works and the literature and art policies of the period. This paper focuses on the text and uses the research of comparative literature, mainly explores the specific process of the formation of the premise of the 'border' as a community imagination;what kind of narrative method the author used to describe the process from the formation of boundaries to the unity of national consciousness;how the characters in the story took the form of behavior to express the complete internalization of national consciousness. And then, inspects the social role of modern literary works reflected in the narrative process of the formation of the national identity of North Korean peasants and Chinese Korean peasants during the liberation period.First, this paper discussed the formation of boundaries.Lee Gi-young's Land formed a class-based boundary. This is because the exclusive role of the new group's conflicts of interest has resulted in a natural relationship that was originally formed with ancestry as the link. This eventually led to the fact that when the same people divided into two,the people would belong to the national group of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. And this process presents the characteristics of internal unity and single position advancement. In contrast,in Li Genquan's The Tiger Cliff, the natural collective consciousness of "Koreans" of Chinese Korean peasants already exists. It also uses the class as the basis to exclude the opposing classes from the boundary, and at the same time,it highlights the process of Korean ethnic peasants'active participation in the class struggle of the Communist Party of China and integration with the proletarian masses in China.Second, there are also differences in the narrative methods that describe the formation process of national clan awareness. There are three main ways to guide the peasants' awareness of changes in Land:Firstly, the intellectuals of this nation aim at the direct education of the sensed youth;secondly, the repeated explanations, explanations, and discussions of the concept of democracy;and thirdly, promoting modern media such as newspapers and modern education such as evening schools. The Tiger Cliff adopts a different method. The Chinese Communist Party played a key role in the formation of Chinese Korean peasants' national consciousness, with indirect and practical features. Finally, with the hope of looking forward to a common future, loyalty to the country, and making contributions and sacrifices,it shows the complete internalization of national consciousness.Land constantly called for the future of the nation and loyalty to the construction of the motherland in various places and scenarios and was discussed and discussed by the people.Through patriotism and dedication, the ideological changes of the masses that belong to the nation are reflected by the masses. In The Tiger Cliff, the sacrifice of the ordinary peasants reflects the universalization of the national consciousness, while the realization of the protagonist is the climax of the collective consciousness.Through the identification of the Communist Party and the imagination of the New National Community, the self is attributed to the national group called"the people."Through the above analysis combined with the two authors' literary view,we can see that Lee Gi-young and Li Genquan integrated their own creative intentions into literary works to arouse the reader's resonance and achieve their creative goals. These two literatures vividly demonstrated the social role of modern literature.
