The Study Of Modernity Anxiety In Xuemo's Western China Native Novel

The thesis takes Xuemo's novel as research object and modernity anxiety as research perspective.It tries to explore the modernity anxiety in Xuemo's local novels and the practical significance of it from the aspect of the presentation of modernity anxiety,the influences of narrative mode,the behind reasons and practical significance.The paper holds that according to the different levels,the present of modernity anxiety in novel is divided into three aspects:survival anxiety,identity anxiety and mental anxiety.The survival anxiety shows from the poor natural environment,the suppression of township agencies and the feudal feud.The identity anxiety shows from the lack of the right to speak,repressed subjectivity and unreason.The spiritual anxiety shows from moral decline,the loneliness of the soul and seeking on way out.All the above reflect the author's unique native modernization thinking which based on the western China native culture.It makes Xuemo distinguish from other writers.The modernity anxiety is not only the intrinsic motivation for creation,but also affects the narrative structure.Whether leave the home or return hometowns again,both showed the complicated and difficult of the transformation of rural modernity,which constitutes distinctive rural Narrative Model of "Leave and Return".The causes of the modern anxiety in Xuemo's novel are as follows:the expression of collective unconscious from the western China writers under the background of the times,the writer's own humanitarian care spirit and the concern about the phenomenon of losing the root of traditional culture.These show that Xuemo consciously takes the responsibility of modernization in form of anxiety,which form unique spiritual dimension.The above three propositions are different aspects of studying the modern anxiety in Xuemo's novels.With the promotion of the times,the realistic significance of modernity anxiety is more worthy to attention.The writing of Xuemo is not only based on realistic narration,which call attention to the development of the western region in China from three aspects of poverty,ecological environment and spiritual issue,but also express concern about whole human in the aspect of the meaning of life,the excavation of human nature and the spiritual belief.In addition,anxiety is the key to promote the transformation of his literature creation and create a spiritual home for mankind,which triggered the collective thinking about the trend of western China native novels in the new era.In a word,the thesis tries to gradually sum up and reflect the literary value,realistic meaning and cultural enlightenment of Xuemo's novels in new period which take the modernity anxiety as the coordinate.
