The Influence Of Zhao Mengfu's Painting Theory On Literati Painting In Yuan Dynasty

Zhao Mengfu,a Yuan Dynasty writer,famous painter and poet,is one of the four regular script writers(Ouyang Xun,Yan Zhenqing,Liu Gongquan and Zhao Mengfu).His works are a bright pearl in the history of traditional Chinese painting,leaving many outstanding works of art and painting theory which occupies an important position in the history of painting.Zhao Mengfu's painting theory has a great relationship with the artistic environment of his life and the background of the times.His achievements in calligraphy and painting are very high.His art practice provides a basis for his painting theory.The drawback of academy painting in Song Dynasty provided an opportunity for his painting theory.His artistic attainments opened a new prospect for the development of literati paintings in Yuan Dynasty.This article has made a deep study of Zhao Mengfu's aesthetic thought.He put forward the aesthetic standard of "ancient meaning and nature",and created the form of "calligraphy in painting",and created the aesthetic culture of "combination of poetry and calligraphy and printing".Zhao Mengfu's painting theory has influenced the development of the literati painting in Yuan Dynasty.The painting of literati has developed to the peak in the Yuan Dynasty.Zhao Mengfu's painting theory has a vital role.They are the outstanding representatives of the literati paintings of the Yuan Dynasty.This article,starting with their works,analyses the relationship between their artistic style and Zhao Mengfu's painting theory and their relationship with Zhao Mengfu.This paper expounds the influence of Zhao Mengfu's aesthetic thoughts on literati paintings in Yuan Dynasty.The fourth chapter points out the new development of literati paintings in Yuan Dynasty,which are all influenced by Zhao Mengfu's theory of painting.In addition,the last chapter of the article also explores Zhao Mengfu's painting theory and the development of modern Chinese painting.In general,Zhao Mengfu's theory of painting plays a significant role in the song and Yuan Dynasties.It is worth studying and discussing.
