A Research On Marcuse's New-sensibility Theory In The Internet Environment

Absorbing and learning from the Existentialism of Martin Heidegger,the Psychoanalytic Theory of Sigmund Freud and Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844 by Karl Marx,the New-sensibility theory of Herbert Marcuse is aimed to study the freedom and liberation of human beings,which is based on his profound understanding of highly developed industrial society of capitalism.With the development of capitalism and material,the mental crises and requirements become increasingly outstanding----Sensory function alienation.Herbert Marcuse spotted it subtly and then put forward the theory of “One Dimensional Man”.In the meantime,he also got sight of the criticism and reveal of this theory from modern art and literature aesthetically in capitalist society.Putting all his hope in the revolution of “aesthetic dimension” centered on art and literature,he thought that only through this transform in human?s inner aesthetics and instincts,could the premise of new society---the brand-new human namely the new sensible human,be created radically.Based on the “New Sensibility” theory,the article is to study interpretation of this theory in network environment nowadays.To liberate from the control of technical rationality,Marcuse thinks the “New Sensibility” theory is a solution.In network environment,the establishment of “New Sensibility” has a certain probability and some problems caused by the development of new media technology are able to be solved by this theory.On this basis,the article goes in six parts:The first part introduction gives a brief introduction of the content and background of this paper from the prospective of the study of “New Sensibility” theory in research background,research meanings and research methods etc.,including the investigation of research status of critical theory of technology in Marcuse?s sensible thoughts.The first chapter tells the contents and main ideas of Marcuse?s “New Sensibility” theory from the view of its three origins.Aiming at establishing reality principle,the theory means combining with rationality to reach the harmonious unification between sensibility and rationality while transforming the society radically.The “New Sensibility” theory features negativity and imagination at the same time.Afterwards,the relationship between “New Sensibility” and artistic aesthetic are discussed.The second chapter talks about the aesthetic features and reflection of new media in a network environment.The popular communication form of live network broadcast is studied mainly.Live broadcast offers a “aesthetic spot” and the netizen also shows corresponding aesthetic features.The third chapter probes into the necessity of taking both the instrument rationality and humanistic connotation of media into account from the prospective of treating network media technology dialectically.The possibility of establishing the “New Sensibility” theory created from the new media technology and problems appearing with the development of new media technology which need to be solved by establishing the “New Sensibility” are analyzed.The fourth chapter comes up with an aesthetic redemption program to establish “New Technology” and “new sensible humen” from the view of the construction rooted in the “New Sensibility” theory.The last chapter is the conclusion part,which concludes the “New Sensibility” theory of Marcuse,and investigates its meaning critically and the enlightenment function for future theoretical research and real life.
