A Report On The E-C Simultaneous Interpretation Of Apple Special Event 2017

This report is based on the practice of simulated simultaneous interpretation(English-Chinese)of Apple Special Event 2017.It consists of five chapters.The first chapter is task description,aiming to illustrate the purpose and significance of the topic.The second chapter is pre-translation preparation.This part is intended to familiarize with related materials and interpreting situations,thus improving the understanding of professional knowledge in the field of science and technology.The third chapter is the process of this simulated interpretation.The fourth chapter is the theoretical basis and interpretation analysis,mainly based on the theory of Daniel Gile from the perspective of Efforts Model,which illustrates the guidance of pre-interpreting preparation and the short-term memory.Furthermore,it also applies the integration of the following basic principles,namely,syntactic linearity,information reduction and contextual inference.In view of the above-mentioned strategies,specific and feasible solutions are recommended for future reference.The fifth chapter is the summary part,which analyzes the limitations of the simulated interpretation,and puts forward the shortcomings and improvement methods.The significance of this report is that the simulation-based self-practice contributes to the understanding of the whole practice process,and helps to form a complete and effective procedure of interpreting exercise.In addition,the case study and the integration of interpreting techniques may further deepen theoretical understanding,and to form a set of more complete and effective ways.Eventually,we hope that the report can provide some reference for students,especially the interpreters-to-be,to realize the real nature of simultaneous interpretation.
