A Study On Cultural Terminology Of Beijing Opera Costumes

Chinese Opera art as an integral part and unique form of expression of the Chinese traditional culture.On the one hand,it connects with the Chinese classical philosophy,ethics and social customs.On the other hand,it shows the basic features of Chinese society and culture from one aspect.It can be say,the Chinese Opera art is the comprehensive manifestation of Chinese traditional culture.Beijing Opera is the quintessence of the Chinese culture,and it is an window for foreigners to learn about Chinese traditional culture.The Beijing Opera costumes are one of the important carriers to spread the Chinese Opera culture.Therefore,the translation of the cultural terminology of Beijing Opera costumes is particularly important.During the translation,translators could never make it by only employing one single translation model.During the translation,the translator needs to coordinate the primitive language culture and the target language culture,and coordinate different translation methods.This paper takes the cultural terminologies of “DaYi”,“Er Yi” and “San Yi” as the research objects.First,discuss the Coordination Translation Theory and the cultural background of the Beijing Opera costumes.Then,comb several representative culture terminology of Beijing Opera costumes.Next,compare the similarities and differences of three translators' translations on the same culture terminology of Beijing Opera costume.and explain the author's understanding of the footwear cultural translation.Finally,compare three translators' translation strategy on culture terminology of Beijing Opera costume,and point out the problems translators should pay attention to in culture terminology translation,so as to provide some enlightenment to cultural terminology translation practice in the future.
