A Study Of The Literati Consciousness Tendency In Contemporary Chinese Painting

Under the diversified global linguistic context,all kinds of eastern and western artistic concepts and forms collide and interchange mutually in the increasingly international environment.Contemporary Chinese paintings are now exhibiting the charm in front of the people with the inclusive and flourishing posture.As the representative of traditional elite culture,literati paintings face the opportunities and challenges for its own development status under the historical background.Chinese artists take this opportunity to organically combine the consciousness of literati contained in literati paintings with the changing contemporary artistic ideas to re-constitute the novel and unique artistic form.Under current historical background,new artistic form has made new annotation to traditional consciousness of literati and exhibited the artistic ideas of new times and further reflected the contemporary characteristics of the times and shown the contemporary spirit of the times.With the consciousness of literati of Chinese contemporary paintings(placing emphasis on oil paintings)as entry point,the paper starts with social background and ideology and culture soil generated by consciousness of literati to trace the source,then demonstrates the relatio nship between consciousness of literati and Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism culture and further discusses the reflection of consciousness of literati in literati paintings.Afterwards,the article interprets the four aspects of consciousness of literati f rom the rational angle: assimilated emotional sustenance,poetic pictures and conception,simple and brief mode of expression as well as free and natural character and realm pursuit.Next,it discusses the spiritual internalization of consciousness of li terati to Chinese contemporary paintings and the content covers the enlightenment function of “wandering” aesthetic activity to the true nature of life in image as well as the expression function of “writing” to spiritual disposition and intelligence.Then it sets out from the form externalization of consciousness of literati and the content covers the choice of drawing form and theme,language development direction of “writing” as well as the aesthetic trends of pattern language's “simplification”.It takes the works of representative painters of Chinese contemporary paintings as examples to analyze,which has reflected the change and development of consciousness of literati in Chinese contemporary paintings.Lastly,it illustrates the value and significanc e of consciousness of literati in Chinese contemporary paintings.We hope to add a new perspective in artistic creation system and play a certain role in the enlightenment and reference for the successors in relevant creation field,creative ideas and crea tive expression and this is also where the purpose and significance of the paper is.
