Magnitude And Number As The Two Aspects Of Time And Their Difficulties Involved

It is generally believed that the view of time as number escape from the original time,and blame for Aristotle.However,this criticism apart from Aristotle's meaning in the first time.He take the time as number which be counted,not as number which counting.Clock Time or some similar points are more close to the latter.Moreover,this criticism lose sight of the relation between magnitude and number,and the relevant insights and philosophical consequence.This paper want to clarify the definition of time for Aristotle,he understand time as a number of change in respect of the before and after.But before he brought forth to this conclusion,time has characterized as continuous and order in chapter quantity of Category.Interestingly,the definition of time is interpreted by the latter.Is there any other consideration for this tiny difference?This paper will answer this question,and we will draw a conclusion in final chapter.But before we discuss this question,we will understand the definition of time.In respect of Aristotle's view,time is relevant to change,before and after and number.Notably,many scholars are query this definition.Because if there is no time,how can we understand change and before and after.otherwise,how can we explain continuous by means of discrete.The final question is relevant to coherence in continuous and order.Therefore,this paper has following steps: chapter one discuss the change and time,chapter two and three discuss the two conditions for “before and after” can be counted,and chapter four discuss the explanation of time as number,and this explanation in Kant's inheritance.In final chapter,I will prove that magnitude and number are not just in Aristotle's view accidentally,but the consequence of thought.And to this point,the furtherance or criticism of research will becoming tenable.
