The SCV ( the structure of continuative verbs) in Chineselanguage is the syntactical structure composed of verbs and verbalphrases. Compared with the Aryan, the syntactical feature of Chineseis that the verbal phrases are arranged without the function words. In the introduction of this paper, a sunmary of the precedingstudies on the SCV is made, based on which the questions to beanswered in this paper are proposed. That is, What is the maximum ofthe verbs that exist in a SCV? What' s the words order in which theverbs are arranged ?Before we study on the order of the verbal phrases in the SCV,weclassify the SCV to two types according to whether or not they arerelated to the temporal sequence.Firstly,we study on the order of the verbal phrases in the SCVthat are not related to the temporal sequence. This kind of SCVusually consists of two verbal components. When both the two verbalcomponents are in positive forms, they can exchange their positions. When one of them is in positive form and the other is in negativeform, they can not exchange their positions.Secondly, we study on the order of the verbal phrases in the SCVthat are related to the temporal sequence. This kind of SCV arecomparatively complicated, so we classify the verbal components tothe following seven types according to their function in the SCV: to3indicate time , to indicate posture, to indicate location腸hange, toindicate place, to indicate means of action , to indicate state ormode , to indicate intentive action.Among the seven types of the verbal components , the ones thatindicate intentive action must be self膍astered verbs, and must beat the end of a sentence. We take this kind of verbal components asthe coordinate axis to fix other verbal components' semanticpositions. In the SCV, the verbal phrases indicating means of actionand those indicating intentive action are related closely, becausecertain action can not finish without certain instrument. In thissense, the verbal phrases indicating means of action are closest tothe verbal phrases indicating intentive action. The conceptionalrelation between place and action is not as intimate as that betweenmeans of action and intentive action. The reflection of this on thewords order is that verbal phrases indicating place are prior to theverbal phrases indicating means of action.Certain action must occurs in certain place , so place is moreimportant to verbs than time is. In this sense , the conceptionalrelation between place and action is more intimate than that betweentime and action. The reflection of this on the words order is thatverbal phrases indicating time are prior to those indicating place.4The verbal phrases indicating posture can be either prior to orbehind those indicating location腸hange ,and also, they can be eitherprior to or behind the verbal phrases indicating place.Lastly, we study the number of the verbs that exist in theSCV. Theoretically, there can be infinite number of verbs exist in theSCV because of the following two reasons:First of all, the causive verbs that can appear circularly in theSEN cause the indefinite length of the SEN.Secondly, there can be numerous verbs in the same semanticposition , so we can see infinite number of verbs in one SCV.
