U.S.-Philippines Non-traditional Security Cooperation And Its Influence On U.S. Return To The Southeast Asia

As the non-traditional security threats have become increasingly prominent in the worldwide, the international community's attention to the issue of safety have great change, especially after the “9-11” incident, non-traditional security issues such as terrorism became the main new security hot spots, and the United States began the implementation of its Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. In recent years, the United States began to focus on the implementation of its strategy to return to Southeast Asia,the war on terror in Southeast Asia also will be in full swing. Philippines as an ally of the United States, plays an important role in the U.S. return to the Southeast Asia strategy in dealing with non-traditional security threats, especially in the fight against terrorism, the extensive and in-depth cooperation conduct between the two country in non-traditional security fields.This article is under the background of the U.S. return to the Southeast Asia strategy. Through a comprehensive analysis of the content of U.S.-Philippines non-traditional security cooperation to explore the impact on the United States to return to the Southeast Asia strategy. On foundation of improving our comprehensive national strength, stable peripheral security environment for the development, promote the construction of regional integration, handle the U.S.-Philippines relationship properly and so on.The United States is a superpower in the world and Philippines is a close neighbor of China.As the U.S.-Philippines relationship become increasingly closer and theUnited States implement its return to Southeast Asia strategy, maintaining China's interests and influence in Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific region become crucial.Therefore, China should adhere to the consistent principle of good neighborly and friendly, develop a good relationship with America and Philippines, avoid some small dispute conflicts. But at the same time, on the relevant issues concerning national interests of our country, we must stand firm.
