Since a digital game named Space War was programmed by a student of Massachusetts institute of technology named Steve-Russell in 1962, digital game has been widely praised for its social value as the ninth art. In order to normalize and guide the content correctly expressed by the game, the digital game censorship was created in response to the proper time and conditions.In China, digital game censorship has always been one of the hotspots in recent years. With the establishment of Shanghai Free Trade Zone (SFTZ) and the opening of game market, the discussion of game censorship by public becomes white-hot. Game censorship in China was set up late, and its problem is outstanding, bringing much difficult to both game makers and public. It is necessary and realistic to normalize and perfect the game censorship from the aspect of legal system. The article references and clarifies the game censorship and its problems of the main countries and extraterrestrial regions, combines our national game censorship at the present, strives to find out the legal issues and its solutions.The first chapter clears and the necessity and limit of game censorship through analyzing relevant factors, and clarifies related theoretical issues about the censorship. The second chapter deeply analyzes the censorship of subject, standard and procedure, and introduces and analyzes game rating system of the main countries and extraterritorial regions. The third chapter comes out with corresponding solving measures aimed at the present problems of censorship, and proposes to establish suitable game rating system for national conditions.
