The Research On Worldview Of Jonathan Hughes' Ecological Marxism

Jonathan Hughes is a prominent scholar of the British Ecological Marxism, the “Ecological and Historical Materialism” is his masterpiece. In the book, Hughes regards Marxist values as logical premise, re-examine the relationship between humans and nature from the fact that the natural environment suffers serious damage.He advocates a “generalized anthropocentrism” values. Adhering to the values,Hughes attributes the ultimate root of ecological crisis to the capitalist mode of production and its worldview. On this basis, to explore a new road to eliminate the ecological crisis and achieve socialism.
