On The Culture Construction Thought Of Mao Zedong During Yan'an Period

Yan'an Period is one of the important periods in terms of the cultural construction throughout Chinese party's history.Led by Comrade Mao Zedong,the early communist,the Chinese communist party initiated the new democracy culture with Chinese characteristics through hard exploration,which is still sparkling today.In early modern era,China,invaded by western powers,gradually descended to a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society.As a result,Chinese people was oppressed by "Three Big Mountains(Imperialism,Feudalism and Capitalism)'' and faced the issues of struggling for independence and liberation.In the critical period with internal disorders and foreign invasions,Mao Zedong creatively combined the Marxism's cultural construction with China's actual conditions and thus formed his own cultural construction thought,which positively affected the unity against Japan and then speed up the victory of the war.This thesis systematically explores the following aspects of Mao Zedong's cultural construction thought in Yan'an Period.The first chapter mainly introduces the background and significance of the topic selection and briefly reviewed the domestic and foreign research present situation;Yan'an Period Mao Zedong's thought about cultural construction was not developed overnight,but was gradually formed in the process of revolution and construction practice under specific historical background.Therefore,the second chapter describes the historical conditions and the origin of the theory about Mao Zedong's cultural construction thought during Yan'an Period.The third chapter aims at illustrating the main content of Mao Zedong's cultural construction thought in terms of the new-democratic culture platform,the cadre education thoughts,journalism,art and literature,medicine,the role of the intellectuals,philosophy and social sciences.The new-democratic culture platform posed the requests for establishing a national,scientific and popular new-democratic culture.In the cadre's education respect,the request is to insist on the cadre's education firstly as well as stimulating the popular education.In the construction of news respect,the working attitude of seeking truth from facts and marxist style should be persisting.In art and literature respect,the literature and art should originate from life,reflect life and serve for the public and politics;In medicine respect,the health education among the masses should be advocated,and the effective combination of Chinese and western medicine should be promoted;In the intellectual policy respect,the role of intellectuals in the cultural construction should be place a high value,meanwhile,the great attention should be payed for the influence of philosophy and social science.The fourth chapter studies the characteristic and historical role of Yan'an Period Mao Zedong's cultural construction thought.The fifth chapter discusses that the value of Mao Zedong's thought in both theory and practice of contemporary culture.Mao Zedong's cultural construction thought in Yan'an Period enriches and develops the Marxism-Leninism's cultural construction theory.It also has some significance for intensifying the contemporary socialist culture and promoting cultural innovation.
