This paper argues that as a technology, the essential attribute of Internet is technicality, and its ultimate purpose is to serve human society. The theme of this thesis is "the study on the development of political democracy in the Internet era ", and how this new technology exerts influence on the political life, development of political democracy, and the improvement of the political civilization. Every coin has two sides. Internet brings the diversity of life, as well as the negative effects and problems. In the Internet era, China’s political democracy has its distinct characteristics. On the one hand, it inherits the outstanding experience accumulated in the process of democratic construction; on the other hand, it should absorb the mature way of developing political democracy by the means of Internet to put forward a feasible plan of political democracy development.This thesis consists of five chapters. In chapter one, the author raises a question to lead to the theme of the thesis, then introduces the research results and the author’s thinking on this theme detailedly; In chapter two, the relative definitions and characteristics of political democracy in the Internet era are introduced; In chapters three and four, the authors states the current situation and existing problems of the political democracy in China and the relevant experiences and enlightenments from the foreign countries; In chapter five, the author proposes the suggestions of promoting the health development of political democracy in the Internet era, attempting to practice them in the three aspects of social environment, the administrative reform and the two-sidedness of the Internet technology, hoping they would be helpful to solve the difficulties in the political governance by our state and government.
