A Perspective Of Political Socialization Of Female Image In Modern China

This paper took the news reports of female of the People's Daily in 1950-2013 as examples to study female image of Party Newspaper from the following aspects:in the context of our country,what images of female may the media choose to construct?What changes in different period?Why does the Party Newspaper construct these images?What specific functions do these images have?How could we optimize the images' effect?The study found that the female image has strikingly marked with the stamps ofthe times,and also had distinct characteristics of era.Female image is unitary in the revolution era.In the early years of the New China,Socialist New Man image is the major image.In the Great Cultural Revolution,revolutionary women image is the major image.After the reform and opening-up policy,a diverse development of female image happens in post-revolutionary.In the initial stages for reform and opening-up,the emphasis is on femininity regression.After the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing,the emphasis is on female's political participation.The images constructed in different period adapt different historical conditions and tasks.Female image in the People's Daily carries out political socialization function via composing models and contrasting the new and the old time.We found that female image of the People's Daily play on socialization function excellently.First,in the terms of maintaining the political system,it consolidates the political legitimacy of the country.Second,on the part of political culture,it combines the influence of audience consciousness as well as inheriting women's liberation theory of CPC.Third,on the part of political value,it breaks the old idea and creates the new.Fourth,in shaping the political personality,it shapes and mocks symbolic political personality.Although there is something wrong in female image,gender equality becomes some kind of slogan.The state discourse and consumerism culture are gambling.Women and female are gambling either.In general,female image of the People's Daily makes the function of political socialization come true.
