Study On Senior Citizens' Participation In Social Development

In the aspect of senior citizens,it could be seen that the percentage of China's senior citizens is increasing,which accelerates the hitting of "gray wave".In the context of population aging that is affecting our lives in many aspects,the need for senior citizens' participation in social development is ever increasing,which gives rise to the question of how to protect the interests and rights of the senior citizens during this process.Senior citizens'participation in social development is a worldwide concern,and as human rights improves,such participation has already risen from actual need to tangible right.This calls for comprehensive understanding towards senior citizens' participation in social development in legal terms,the creation of a favorable public opinion environment,and a reliable legal protection system.The protection of the rights and interests of senior citizen's participation in social development could greatly boost the solving of a series of problems stemmed from population aging,and thereby ensure the healthy and fast development of entire society.Taiyuan municipal government and senior citizens organizations have stick to the policies of Rights Protection for Senior Citizens' Participation in Social Development,provided support and platform for senior citizens' participation in social development,including doing social work,counseling,supervising and so on,which makes it possible for senior citizens to do their part for China's social development.However,the promotion of Active Aging will not be possible without awareness from government,attention from public and support from society.Only by putting efforts from all levels and channels,can we forge a favorable setting and smooth path for senior citizens' participation in social development.Based on the study on the status quo of senior citizens'participation in social development in Taiyuan,the survey on exemplary figures from the "Opportunities for the Senior Citizens" project,and the research on companies who provided opportunities for senior citizens'participation in social development,this paper summarizes the problems,causes,and corresponding solutions for senior citizens' participation in social development project in Taiyuan.
