Since the reform and opening up, China has undergone rapid economic development and made remarkable achievements. Thanks to its economic development, China becomes increasingly attractive to foreigners who come to China for cultural and economic exchanges and for marriage sometimes. A large number of women from neighboring countries have entered China through illegal means. For example, some North Korean women steal into Northeast China adjacent to North Korea through a variety of ways. And of these North Korean women, most have been in a defacto marriage with local men in Northeast China. And they are thus called "North Korean brides" who live with Chinese men in such a marriage. In this context, the study from the perspective of ethnology and cultural anthropology, by use of knowledge of sociology, women's studies and other related disciplines, has selected X County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province as the fieldwork site and surveyed 20 "North Korean brides" and their families and neighbors in the region by questionnaire and in-depth interviews, for a systematic study of the current situation of Sino-Korean transnational marriages, the social and cultural adaptation of "North Korean brides" and their adaptation strategies as well as the influence of the "Northern Korean brides" phenomenon on individuals, families and communities. The author has drawn conclusions as follows:First, Sino-Korean transnational marriages are attributed by the two countries" economic gap. geographical factors, complementary sex ratios and historical and cultural factors. In this case, Sino-Korean transnational marriages can be divided into four types:realistic marriages, ideal marriages, frauds, curiosity-induced marriages.Second, "North Korean brides" show varying adaptation characteristics in daily lives, family relations, social relations, economy and other adaptation dimensions. Generally speaking, they use a strategy of combining separation and integration in their adaption to daily lives, that is, they learn and absorb the local cultural practices when retaining their own daily habits. In their adaption to family relations, "North Korean brides" display strong individual characteristics since their marital relationships show different forms including harmony, violence and tragic abandonment. In the social and economic adaptation dimension, "North Korean brides" also show the combination of separation and integration, that is, they use local social relations for their own interests and keep a certain distance from local social relations for their own security. Their social and economic adaptation is influenced by multiple factors such as the time they live in China, their husbands'social and economic status, their own ability and illegal immigration status.Third, these factors lead to such problems with "North Korean brides" in their social and cultural adaptation as difficulty to expand social networks, ignorance of children's education, difficulty to obtain high income and disability to integrate into the local community. To some extent, the existence of the "North Korean brides" phenomenon has a negative impact on individuals, children, families and local community.
