A Study Of Roles And Functions Of Female In North Korean Sports Diplomacy To South Korean

In the field of traditional international politics,there is little that female can do in the national political affairs.Taking North Korean cheerleaders as an example,this thesis tries to answer the question whether female can play a role in diplomatic field and how they can do it,analyzes the characteristics and functions of female in sports diplomacy,and turns the traditional male perspective to a more comprehensive framework.Under the viewpoint of social sex,we take female into consideration in order to dig out the feasibility and uniqueness of their political activities in national sports diplomacy.By summarizing the features of sports diplomacy,the thesis interprets the notion of North Korean female from multiple dimensions including physiology,politics,cultures,and communications to better explore its similarities with sports diplomacy and how female are to play the role in it.Then we reviews the history of North Korea's sports diplomacy to South Korea.By taking the North Korea cheerleaders in Pyeongchang Winter Olympics as an example,we analyze their influence and come to the conclusion that their specific charms are in promoting national image and enhancing national identity.Finally,chapter 4 concludes the features of North Korean female as a member of oriental culture.It argues that female have specific charms of ‘flexible politics' in the low political field of sports diplomacy.
