With the deepening of the anti-corruption campaign after the 18th National Congress of the CPC,the multielement anti-corruption mechanism is gradually improved.As an important part of anti-corruption mechanism,the perfection and innovation of criminal laws is an important force to promote the punishment of corruption.On November 1,2015,the Amendment of Criminal Law(No.Nine)entered into force,and life imprisonment as the anti-corruption weapon was formally executed to become the iron fist to fight corruption.Life imprisonment is the penalty usually based on state violence that the person concerned shall be held in a place where he or she shall be deprived of his or her personal freedom until the end of life.In the current judicial practice,there are many problems about the discretion of life imprisonment,such as ambiguous rules of the substantive law,unclear circumstances of a case,legal provisions,etc.,which shall be resolved by improving the recognized standards and regulations of the relevant circumstances of a case and safeguarding the exercise of judge's discretion.In addition,the execution of life imprisonment will bring a great penalty cost and impose a huge burden on execution to the person subject to enforcement.In order to solve this problem,it is necessary to strengthen the protection of the rights of the person subject to enforcement during the execution and to establish a complete supervision system of execution to carry out a comprehensive assessment of all aspects of the person subject to enforcement.
