Study On The Historiographer System Of Liao Jin Yuan Dynasty

The official historian system is an important research field of the history of historiography.Understanding a period of the official historian system enables us to know about history of this period well.Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties are three important periods for the formation and development of Chinese multi-ethnic countries,and also an important period for the development of Chinese historiography.According to analysis and summary on three different dynasties' official historian system's establishment,the slection of historian,the duties of historians,the characteristics of the system during this period can be summed up.Making a summary on official historian system of Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties helps us to enrich the ancient China historiography and national historiography.1.The establishment of the Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties' compilation of history.At the beginning of three dynasties,they actively learn advanced culture from Central Plains,and with the development of politics,they set a perfect compilation of history.The Liao Dynasty set remember office:remember;writing mechanism: national history courtyard,works bureau.Jin Dynasty set remember office:remember;writing mechanism;national history courtyard,works bureau;translation organization:transation center and Hongwen academy.Yuan Dynasty not only learnt previous generation,but also combined with the needs of the nation to set the Hanlin nation history courtyard and the Kuizhangge academy,which is more comprehensive and flexibile.Compared with the previous generation,Yuan dynasty has set a comprehensive compilation of history.2.The selection of the hietorians of Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties.Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties,which are ruled by ethnic minority,as for the issue of the historian selection:at first,they must ensure its leadership in the compilation of history;secondly,in order to attract Han talented people to support the regime,they absorb many Han talented people;thirdly,the other minotities which live in the three dynasties also joined in the work compilation of history.There are three main ways for historian selection :the emperor appointed,officer's part-time job,officers' recommendation.Among these ways,officer's part-time job is the most popular.3.The official historians' duties of the Liao,Jin,Yuan Dynasties.Three dynasties inherited the tradition of the Central Plains,writing the emperor' daily life,recording,the history of nation.However,because of the degree of rulers' attention,the country development level,the loss of the historical materials,there is a certain differnece for our understanding achievements of compilation of history.Liao dynasty's historians are mainly responsible for the writing of the emperor' daily life,recording,the history of nation,because of the historical loss,we can only know the “Dynasty Record” of Yelvyan.Jin dynasty's historians are mainly responsible for the writing of the emperor' daily life,calendar,recording,previous generation history.Among these,recording is the an important duty and althother there are ten recordings.The writing of the national history includs "xuzizhitongjian","reviving story","mirrors million years recorded";“canon history including " Gold compilation Miscellany”,"Daikin Gift Set";the writing of the previous generation includs "history of the Liao",because of the probem of orthodox "history of the Liao" can not be published.Yuan dynasty's historians are mainly responsible for the writing of the emperor' daily life,politics,recording,the national history,canon history,geography book,previous generation history.Among these,the writing of the recording is the most remarkable;Canon history includs "Jingshidadian","Taichang Jili";Geography book includis "Yuan Zhi unification";the writing of the previous generation includs "history of the Liao","history of the Jin","history of the Song Dynasty",which are important achievements of Yuan history.4.The characteristics of Liao,Jin and Yuan Dynasties' offical historian systemBy carding the organization for history,the selection of historian,the duty of the historian,we can summarize the following three characteristics including:First,the inheritance and development of the history organization.Three Dynasties combined the previous generation and the needs of nation to set the history organization.Second,the selection of historians with Multiple nationalities.Three dynasties is an important period for development and formation of a multinational countries,At the same time,attracting talents from other nationalities is necessary and helpful to promote interact with each others.Third,clear responsibilities of historian was established.Three dynasties' official hisrorian duty is in accord with the process of political development,showing the stage characteristics of three dynasties.With the development of politics,the organization for history gradually improved.The history results of three dynasty mainly finished in the later stage,reflecting clear responsibilities gradually.
