Since the 2008 financial crisis,the national status of U.S.has been declined,and China rise rapidly as a developing country.It has aroused heated discussions on policy towards China all over the United States,and the every four years American presidential election is the largest and most influential among the discussions.Both the candidates will raise China issues frequently,which almost cover all aspects of American public policy.Based on this theme,the paper will be divided into three chapters.The first chapter mainly classifies the China issues in the three U.S.presidential elections after the 2008 financial crisis.The issues can be classified into financial and economic issues,diplomatic and strategic issues,Taiwan issues,human right issues and so on.The second chapter analyze the root causes of the problem of focusing on China issues during the election.The main reasons for candidates focusing on China issues are as follows:First,to cope with China's rise,divert public's attention away from the poor economic situation to relieve domestic government's pressure;Second,to seek more discourse power for their political parties and run the political marketing campaigns for achieving the interests driven by the two-party political system;Third,China issues suit the voters' preferences,candidates can win ballots of Chinese-American voters and swing-state voters;Fourth,to follow the interests of interest groups and media opinions.The third chapter will put forward some thinking and suggestions against the China issues of the U.S.presidential election on the basis of above,in order to provide a useful reference and inspiration.China should strengthen strategic communication with America to send clear signals,conduct public diplomacy creatively and cultural exchanges so as to lead American public to hold a positive attitude on China,strengthen the publicity capability abroad,set positive China issues to shape national image of China,thus creating a friendly public opinion atmosphere in which to develop a stable Sino-U.S.relations.In recent years,the concern and research about the U.S.presidential election politics of domestic and foreign academic circles are increasing.However,they mostly focus on the U.S.presidential election is more concentrated in the level of electoral system,history,or the president's personal behavior and it is obviously lack of specialized research results on China issues in the U.S.presidential election process.Since the 2008 financial crisis,China affairs has extended from low-level politics to high-level politics,so this paper will focus on China issues involved in the three presidential elections after 2008.For China,the China issues in the U.S.presidential election reflects American political values and it is essential to maintain stable development of Sino-US relations.
