A Study On The Legal Protection Of Syrian Refugees

There have been refugee problems in Syria since the Syrian Civil War broke out in 2011.Many Syrian refugees are living under abysmal conditions,and their rights are easily infringed owing to their special identities.However,they can' t safeguard their interests according to international laws and EU's refugee conventions.Thus,joint efforts of the international community and all sovereign states are necessary for protecting rights of Syrian refugees.In this paper,four major aspects are discussed.In the first two chapters(Part 1)definition of refugees is explained,while origins of Syrian refugees,their current situation and their impacts upon Europe are analyzed.In the 3rd chapters(Part 2),an emphasis is placed upon discussing evidences for legitimately protecting Syrian refugees,present international/European protection of these refugees and pertinent basic principles.Part 3(including the 4th and 5th chapters)is the key of this paper.In Chapter 4,deficiencies in current legal protection of Syrian refugees are analyzed,to point corresponding shortages and problems.In Chapter 5,suggestions and improvement measures are proposed for protecting these refugees' legal rights.It is put forward that international organizations and sovereign states shall perform their duties.All countries shall strengthen their coordination.The European Union is supposed to improve its refugee conventions and international conventions about refugees ' status.Furthermore,all countries have to reinforce their own legislation about refugees.
