The Research On Problems Of Taxi Market Supervision In China

Taxi is an important part of a city's public transportation.The development of taxi industry can reflect a city's level of modernization and urbanization.Taxi industry provides convenient transportation service for urban residents,promoting economic development of a city.Due to the negative externality of taxi market,if government adopts the policy of laissez-faire to manage taxi industry,some social problems will be caused,such as traffic jam,illegal occupation of road resources and air pollution.In order to avoid taxi market failure and promote healthy development of taxi industry,it is necessary to supervise taxi industry for government.The problems existing government supervision of taxi industry,the reasons causing these problems and government how to play the role of supervisor in taxi industry management,are explored in this thesis.Firstly,through defining some concepts of taxi industry,the features and functions of taxi industry are illustrated.Secondly,based on new public service theory and theory of government regulation,problems existing in government supervision of taxi industry are analyzed deeply.Thirdly,through analyzing status quo of supervision systems,the fundamental reasons for these problems are found out.After comparing Chinese government supervision of taxi industry with western countries',the same features and some enlightenments are concluded.Finally,some reasonable policy suggestions are put forward to improve Chinese government supervision of taxi industry.
