National identity as a deep-seated concept factors,becomes an important point of the national interests and national foreign strategy.Therefore,the study of international relations on the national identity has very important theoretical value.In the new period,profound changes have taken place in the international community,and China's perception of its identity in the international community is constantly changing,with the change of its own sense of responsibility in the international community.On the basis of the status of "responsible big country",as a new social identity of China,the identity of characteristic power is formed in the practice of China's active interaction with the international community.It is a new type of big country identity that promotes the peaceful development of China and promotes the realization of the harmonious world.From the perspective of Constructivism,this paper makes a deep study on the formation and evolution of the national identity,which is based on the structuralist theory of Constructivism.National identity is the key variable of a country's external behavior and it is a kind of social relationship which is formed and developed by the state actors in the process of the construction of the international society,which is based on mutual understanding and holding the common idea.This identity as a characteristic power reflects a kind of deep interdynamic relation between China and international system.China Actively integrates into the international community with " characteristic power " image.And China recognizes its international duties and shoulders more corresponding international responsibilities for safeguarding the world peace and promoting common development while maintaining and developing its own national interest.
