In the past years, Identity has attracted more and more researchers'attention both in the social science and human science fields. Identity drew people's concern, and came to the frontier of international theory research with the revive of constructivism theory. Constructivism theory is politics of identity theory by itself since Identity serves the core position in the constructivism theory. In constructionists'view, identity, which is a result of both internal and external construction, takes on the features of elasticity and subjective. To some extent, the subject recognized identity determines benefit and action. Constructionists'definition of Identity values great theoretical meaning, which is reflected in its explanation of international reality, Identity opens a new state action analysis window of great meaning through Identity research.The paper illustrates on the Identity theory in constructionists'view individually and systematically. The meaning of Identity theory in international relations is also explained in the article. Supported by the Identity theory, associated with China's position in the international society, the paper makes necessary reflection on national identity definition of China in the new century.After New China founded, China's identity position, which experienced Moderate Socialism, Revolutionary Socialism, and Peaceful Developing Socialism, is a process of unceasing exploration, and constant deepening. Retrospecting the past, envisaging the present, looking into the future, we believe, China will hold on the state identity of Peaceful Developing Socialism unswervingly in a quite long period.
