A Study On Academic Periodical Publishing System Of The United Kingdom

Along with the advance of society as a whole,the cultural soft power into the line of sight of people gradually,it's influence for the economic,political,and military's increasing,be based on the foundation of a country.As an aspect of cultural soft power,academic journal is getting more and more attention by every country,so this paper will through the study of the British academic journal publishing system,whose academic journal is influential in the field of academic journal,to provide reference to the improvement of the system of academic journals in China.At first,this paper suggests the formation and development of academic journal publishing system,through the analysis and deconstruction of the formation of the British academic journal publishing system,analysis the inherent logic and the mechanism of the system of academic journals publishing system's generation and development.And to state the system of academic journals published from the monarchy era,the British bourgeois revolution era to the formation of the authority of the association respectively.The earliest British publishing industry is a chartered censorship,every one wants to publish books and periodicals should be reviewed for royal family rules and institutions to carry on the strict censorship,strictly control the publication which damage the nation's reputation and irreligious,to strengthen the stability of state power.After the glorious revolution in 1688,established the system of constitutional monarchy,in this period,the thought and the speech was relatively free,permit system has finally been canceled until 1695,the British publishing system to transformed into post-publishing censorship,formed the publishing system of combination of the post-publishing censorship and registration system.Secondly,analysis the requirement of British academic journals' publishing,analysis the internal cause of the British academic journal publishing system's formation.Then,introduces the main management body from three aspects: government,market,society.Concretely divided into the relevant government departments,industry associations and publishing enterprises.And analyzes the role that government section,industry association and publishing organization are playing in the publication of academic journals.Next,to state the legal system related to academic journals' publishing,industry association rules and publishing organization system.Legal aspects mainly the Libel Law,the Copyright Laws,and the Data Protection Act,the industry association mainly the of association of publishers and booksellers association,publishing agencies mainly the Cambridge university press publishing system and the editing and publishing system of springer nature publishing group.Finally summarizes the British academic journal publishing system,compare Chinese and British academic journal publishing system's the main differences,and analyzes the problem and the reasons of academic journals of our country.Then according to the successful experience of British academic journal publishing system and the circumstances of our country,make a trade-off reference,put forward reasonable suggestions for the reform of the system of academic journals' publishing in China,to perfect the system of academic journals' publishing in our country.
