Terrorism And Counter-terrorism Measures In Indonesia From The Perspective Of Constructivism

From the view of Constructivism,sense of identity is consisted of interest and behavior.Based on the consensus of Islamic regime or Sharia,Indonesian terrorists are driven to take terror actions,while the authority is driven to take anti-terror actions based on the consensus of Pancasila,the rule of Indonesia society.The source of main terrorism group in modern Indonesia is Darul Islam,which conflicts with the Indonesia government for the founding of Islamic government in Indonesia.With the evolution of Darul Islam,Indonesia terror organization developed gradually and planned a series of terrorism attacks.The terrorism attack in Bali happened in the year 2002 proved to be a watershed for the counter-terror action of the authority,who started to admit that terrorism existed in Indonesia and took legal measures to fight against terrorism.Those measures includes making counter-terrorism law,setting more counter-terrorism organization,cooperating with the international society,taking “De-radicalization” movement,cooperating with Majelis Ulama Indonesia and Muslim community.It makes the international society admire what Indonesia done and got in the field of counter-terrorism.But if someone did the research of the number of terrorism attack in Indonesia will discover the number is increase constantly in recent years.By the theory of Constructivism,this thesis argues that the sense of identity to different social rules between different actors is the source of conflicts in Indonesia through the research into the history of modern Indonesia terrorism organization and governmental counter-terrorism measures.Due to the changes in the social behavioral rules outside the actors and ideology for thinking inside the actors,the counter-terrorism measures in Indonesia got some effects.Under the condition that the rules is completed,the thesis also holds that Indonesian terrorism can never be eliminated completely for the long and lasting dispute of identity although Indonesian terrorism is under effective control.
