The Enlightenment Of Singapore's Common Values' Construction For Practicing Socialist Core Values

Singapore is a multi-ethnic,multi-religious immigrant country.Since independence,it has made remarkable achievements in political,economic and social management,and created the "Singapore miracle".After a comprehensive consideration of many factors,and repeated demonstration.Singapore formally promulgated common values,in January 1991,which included "National supremacy and social first;Family is the root,the society is Ben;Caring for and respecting individuals;Consensus and avoidance of conflict;Racial harmony and religious tolerance." Since then,the Singaporean government has promoted common values based on its national conditions.After years of exploration,Singapore have accumulated many effective practices in building common values.It mainly includes: To promote the construction of common values by law;to strengthen standardized management of civil servants and give full play to their exemplary role;to strengthen people's livelihood to promote common values;to make the education of school as the main channel to implement the common values education;to make the education of family as an important basis for the implementation of common values education;to give full play to the unique role of grassroots organizations in the construction of common values;to manage manage the media strictly and shape the public opinion environment conducive to the construction of common values.China and Singapore have a lot in common in building the foundation of their core values.For example,they are both the country which Chinese is majority;they are both influenced by Confucian culture;they both have been in the social transition period,and have been impacted by western values.Practice shows that Singapore's common values have achieved better results.However,at present,China has entered a new stage of development in cultivating and practicing socialist core values.Therefore,in the process of practicing socialist core values,it is an effective way to broaden our vision by taking some inspirations from the practice of building common values in Singapore.But it needs to be pointed out that we must root in the biggest reality of socialism with Chinese characteristics and uphold the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics of Xi JinPing during the process learning Singapore's common values to improve the process of implementing socialist core values.Finally,we put forward five strategies to improve the core values of socialism by learning the common values of Singapore.Including that to improve the rule of law to guarantee the core values of socialism;to give full play to the role of civil servants in practicing socialist core values;to strengthen the work of people's livelihood to promote the practice of core socialist values;to strengthen the function of school education in the practice of core socialist values;to pay more attention to the basic role of family in practicing socialist core values,etc.
