In local chronicles, maps and other historical data of Cantonese Nanhai,Panyu,Shunde's Towns, there are many streets or places named after "Li".Li,Jie,Fang,Xiang and so on become common names of places.Li is widespread in Nanhai,Panyu,Shunde's Towns. It is different from the field length and area measuring unit in the Spring and Autumn period. It is also different from Xiang-Li system throughout the feudal society and Li-Fang system prevailing in the Sui and Tang Dynasties.Different from Li in rural areas,Li in Nanhai,Panyu,Shunde's Towns mostly molding in Ming and Qing Dynasties, the object of study in this article,is the product of nationwide Li-Jia system at the beginning of Ming dynasty. For it,there have been basis of research on the system from social economic historian, but relatively little research on the form of spatial organization. So that the relationship between the social management system and the form of spatial organization is relatively lacking. This article makes clear that Li in Nanhai,Panyu,Shunde's Towns in Ming and Qing Dynasties is the social management unit and the form of spatial organization. As cases in point,Huagai Li in Shunde Daliang,Donghua Li in Nanhai Foshan and Chengfang Li in Panyu Shawan are thoroughly analyzed. As a social management unit, based on the management of land and households,Li-Jia system at the beginning of Ming dynasty, the concrete implementation of a series of basic social management system in Qing Dynasty, the reflection as a form of spatial organization in the actual population, land scale, spatial structure, layout of streets, alleys, cadastral patterns, architectural types, public space systems and so on are explored with the form-morphological way.On the basis of the investigation and study of the above three cases, the author makes a horizontal comparison of the subjects, and probes into the relationship and evolution between the spatial layout and the social management system. As a social management unit,Li in Nanhai,Panyu,Shunde's Towns makes different individual family together by geographical ties,to build a similar closed neighborhood unit like Tang-Li Fang and help household and tax statistics. In the process of development,it gradually formed a relatively stable spatial structure and the pattern of streets. In the process of social differentiation, some of the clan expanded, another clan gradually lost, changing the number of households in Li.The actual number does not correspond with the registered number. The drawbacks of the system continue to emerge.Li eventually disintegrate. The study found that, despite the fact that Li in Nanhai,Panyu,Shunde's Towns has been gradually generalized and is no longer the basic unit of social management,it is only the name of streets and lanes.Neighborhood relationships are weakening, but the spatial organization form of Li is still preserved.
