The understanding of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi to“Four Clean-ups”Movement has long been a hot topic in academic field.Resolutions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on several historical issues of the party since the founding of the people's Republicpassed in the sixth Plenary session of the Eleventh Central Committee and the version of the resolution annotated in 1983 gives a qualitative explanation of the nature and historical status of the movement.Since then,the academic fields have gradually carried out the "science" research on the“Four Clean-ups”Movement,and have obtained very fruitful research results.However,up to now,the academic circles have not carried out the research on the thought cognition of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's“Four Clean-ups”Movements in an all-round way.On the basis of the previous research results,this paper makes a comprehensive and in-depth study on the similarities and differences between Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's“Four Clean-ups”Movement thoughts,andstrives for accurate,complete and objective understanding of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi on the“Four Clean-ups”Movement.This article carries on the research from three aspects.First,it expounds the historical process of the“Four Clean-ups”Movement and the changes of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi's ideological understanding of the movement.Second,it expounds the similarities and differences betweenMao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi in their understanding of the “Four Clean-ups”Movement.Thirdly,it proposes the influence on the thought similarities and differences of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi on the“Four Clean-ups”Movement and their enlightenment to us.This paper holds thatin the early stage of “Four Clean-ups” Movement,MaoZedong and Liu Shaoqi had basically the same understanding of the movement.In the course of the movement development,the differences betweenMao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi on the ideological understanding of the movement gradually appeared and expanded.On the whole,Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi shared the same ideas about “Four Clean-ups” Movement:they both believed that the movement was necessary and needful;it is necessary to send cadres to carry out work at the basic level;they both think that we should adopt the principle and method of point combination,and so on.The differences between Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi in their understanding of the “Four Clean-ups” Movement are as follows: different understandings of the difficulty degree;different understandings of the nature of movement;different understandings of the problems that should be solved in the campaign;different understandings of the specific methods of movement,etc.This paper holds that the differences between Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi on theideological understanding of the“Four Clean-ups” Movements have had a significant historical impact,which has caused a fundamental change in the understanding of the principal contradictions in Chinese society between Mao Zedong and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.The political practice of the expansion of class fight led to the Cultural Revolution,leading to the exploration of socialist construction of the party out of the correct track,seriously affected the socialist economic construction.The thought differences of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi and historical influence of the“Four Clean-ups”Movement showed the important historical enlightenment,which have important valuefor the construction of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics.
