In the early 1920 s,the Soviet Union and the Communist International gradually intervened in the Chinese revolution under the guidance of Lenin's strategic theory on the outline of the national colonial issue. They gave help to the Chinese revolution and also made mistakes in guiding their policies and strategies. This has had a direct impact on the historical process of Chinese revolution and Marxism in China. In terms of how to guide the theory, policy and strategy of the Chinese revolution, the Soviet Union and the Communist International have always had differences of opinion and disputes, among which, with the arrival and failure of the high tide of the National Revolution during the Great Revolution,Stalin and Trotsky, based on their own theory and different understanding of the Chinese revolution in macro-view,began a fierce debate about the Chinese revolution during the Wuhan government period.Through the study of historical data,it was found that during this period,Stalin and Trotsky mainly focused on the KMT-CPC cooperation front, the nature and revolutionary role of the Wuhan government.Stalin developed and based on his three-stage theory, while correctly understanding the nature of Chinese society,he had a wrong class judgment on the nature of the Kuomintang and the essence of the Wuhan government, which led the Communist International under his leadership to give one-sided right-leaning strategic guidance to the Chinese revolution in support of the Wuhan government, emphasizing the policy of relying on the Wuhan government to carry out the land revolution and to continue the Northern Expedition.Trotsky,on the other hand, was based on the theory of continuous revolution.Although he had a wrong understanding of the nature of Chinese society at the beginning,he saw the bourgeois nature of the Kuomintang and the Wuhan government. While insisting on the independence of the Communist Party of China and advocating the formation of the Soviet regime, the Chinese revolution in Wuhan actually carried out the instructions of the Communist International under Stalin's leadership, although it failed in the end.But Trotsky's theory could not be proved tobe correct and could make the Chinese revolution successful at that time. Both of them made different theoretical and strategic mistakes: deviating from the reality of the Chinese revolution.Based on the relevant archives of Comintern and the Chinese Revolution, this paper clarifies the differences between Stalin and Trotsky on the guiding ideology of the Chinese Revolution and their respective reasons on the nature and function of the Wuhan government.According to the theory of the Chinese revolution and the strategic guidance of the two people, the author makes as appropriate and objective evaluation as possible, with a view to understanding the nature of the Wuhan government from the perspective of the Communist International, that is,the Wuhan government is a member of the revolutionary transformation period.A complex, transitional political union with the big bourgeoisie as its main body. The author thinks that the investigation of Stalin and Trotsky's argument about the nature of Wuhan government is an important aspect of the historical process of the Sinicization of Marxism. It is also the accumulation of experience in understanding and guiding the road with Chinese characteristics with Chinese Marxism.
