Study On The Construction Of Campus Culture In Colleges And Universities

Culture is not only the product of social activities, but also the engine to keep the society and human going. Nowadays, globalization and the Internet have become the irresistible historical trend. People constantly expand their horizons and connect more with the world, which,at the same time,has brought the collision among different cultures and thoughts. Hence here comes the issue that need our careful consideration:how to show the characteristics of the national culture in this intense cultural exchange and to develop national culture spirit. What is more, how to actively absorb the western advanced culture and ideology to enhance the Chinese national cultural "soft power". The university is the carrier of the cultural inheritance and innovation, colleges and universities occupies the commanding heights of national culture, therefore, the culture of colleges and universities shoulders the mission of enhancing national culture's soft power and the construction of socialist culture power. Meanwhile, as a cultural phenomenon characteristic, college campus culture is a microcosm of the social culture, which deeply affects and infects the school teachers and students. College campus culture also plays a very important role at cultivating college students to form a good character, and promoting the comprehensive and healthy development of College Students.This paper uses the basic principles of Marxism, from the perspective of the defining the culture and campus culture, based on over-viewing the definition, characteristic and function of culture and campus culture, and analysis campus culture theory in depth. At the same time, this paper makes a comprehensive survey on the status of the campus culture of the Shenyang Construction University, then sum up the features of the construction of college campus culture:the coexistence of big passion for knowledge and fanatical pursuit for practical use, the coexistence of spiritual moral consciousness and unwillingness to help, the coexistence of the consciousness of ambitious struggle and the consciousness of enjoying pleasure.and then this paper make a conclusion from all the issues above that there is misunderstanding among people at the campus culture. Next, the reform of university system make a huge influence on the construction of campus culture. Besides, the imperfection of campus culture system and unhealthy social culture cause tremendous effect on campus culture. This paper analysis the campus culture of colleges in developed countries all over the world, and show the advantages and the uniqueness of Cambridge University, Oxford University in Britain and Harvard University in the United States in particular. and summed up the typical characteristics of western campus culture and enlight the construction of university campus culture in China. According to the characteristics the new period, grasping the basic principles of the contemporary construction of campus culture, from the perspective of spiritual culture construction, material culture construction and system culture construction, this paper finally put forward concrete measures of how to constructing the campus culture in new period.
