Campus culture, the soul of colleges and universities, is the culture collection of the material, spirit, behavior and system, and campus spiritual culture especially the most important, which is not independent, and can be split, but the core of all campus activities, and an overall culture concept, everywhere in no time isn’t reflected and doesn’t affect everyone in the university.Yunnan Normal University, which has a long history of fine tradition and unique campus culture, is the only campus remained in Kunming after the National Southwest Associated University moved to the original campuses. It is now facing a good opportunity to make great progress with the construction of new campus in Chenggong County coming to an end. How to make the excellent culture inherited from the National Southwest Associated University and the main campus of Yunnan Normal University get a continuation and development in new campus is a valuable question worth exploring.This paper named as Inheritance and Innovation:Research on New Campus Culture Construction of Yunnan Normal University, first theoretically discusses why we must and how to strengthen the new campus culture construction in colleges and universities through literature analysis overview on the basis of the construction in new campus of colleges and universities in China today; then, with the support of theoretical basis and the field survey made in new campus, the paper takes Yunnan Normal University for example, presents the construction achievements and shortcomings in the course of development through data analysis and sorting, and puts forward some superficial suggestions in order to provide news ways of thinking for the culture construction of new-built campus, the formation of the characteristic campus culture and the upgrading of campus overall attractiveness of Yunnan Normal University.
