The Development Countermeasures Of Private Under Graduate College

Private undergraduate colleges have witnessed a 15year's development since the foundation of the first private undergraduate college——Huanghe Science & Technology College in 2000.Private undergraduate colleges are playing a more and more important role in Chinese higher education system. But due to the shortage of developing time, restriction of adverse condition from inside and outside during the development, special situation of Chinese higher education, private undergraduate colleges meet lots of difficulties. Focusing on the dilemma which private undergraduate college meet and putting forward the countermeasures to help these colleges,will do a great favor to the development of private undergraduate education and higher education.This research introduce the concept of core competitiveness, analysis the strength?weakness of the private colleges as well as opportunities and challenges they meet in current situation combine the model of “SWOT”. The advantage of private undergraduate embodied in three aspects:(1) Flexible market mechanism(2) Economy of scale(3) Educational philosophy of giving priority to students. Its weakness embodied in five aspects:(1) Lack of education resources(2)They forget the essence of education and don't realize their own ability.(3)Teachers are not stable.(4) The poor quality of students.(5) Some operators lack of education concept and management level should be developed.(6)False propaganda and operations. There are there opportunities for private colleges(1) The government began to support private colleges using public finances(2) People still have a strong demand for high education(3) Social attitude for private college is changing(4) There are still some reasonable rise space for tuition revenue. Besides, the challenges are the following factors(1) Faced with rivals from multi-level(2)Social attach more importance to public colleges than private colleges(3)The developing of network(4) The discriminate from policies and discriminate, support and supervision isn't fully implemented.Combine the reality which private undergraduate colleges meet, plus the analysis of the Wenhua college(A well-developed private undergraduate college in China) and Waseda University(Top private college in Japan), this paper firstly give some countermeasures for private colleges to get out of current dilemma :(1) Government should Strengthen policy and finance support, and implement them.(2)The whole society should eliminate the discrimination and increase the intensity of support.(3)Private college should cultivate the teachers, promote the teachers' development.(4)Private colleges should strengthen internal management and encourage staff to participate in.(5)Private colleges should regulate the behavior of recruit and improve the quality of students. Then this paper put forward countermeasures for private colleges to develop its core competitiveness(1)Take advantage of the market mechanism and make accurate positioning(2) keep the moderate scale and promote the quality of education vigorously(3) Build their own education characteristics and strengthen the professional education.(4) Control financial risk and open source throttling reasonably.(5) Strengthen the discipline construction and improve the teachers' welfare.
