Classroom teaching is the most important organization form of English teaching activities in primary school, of which lead-in is considered as the first step during the process of English classroom teaching. A successful lead-in can not only pave the way for primary school English teachers' teaching of new lessons, but also arouse students' learning motivation, stimulate students' learning interest and mobilize students' learning atmosphere, thus improve students' English learning efficiency. The success or failure of lead-in of English classroom teaching in primary school depends on whether primary school English teachers have good lead-in behaviors of classroom teaching. In addition to the rural education is relatively backward, rural primary school English teachers' lead-in behaviors of classroom teaching is crucial. Therefore, researching on this question has practical and far-reaching significance.I selected six rural primary school English teachers in Xi ying town, Li cheng district, Ji nan city as a case, then made an investigation and research on rural primary school English teachers' lead-in behaviors of classroom teaching. The introduction part of this thesis expounds the research reasons, research significance, research ideas and research methods, and conducts literature review according to the research status of domestic and foreign. On the basis of that, I defined related core concepts such as classroom teaching behavior, classroom teaching lead-in behavior and so on. This paper's investigation is composed of survey design and survey results. The survey design includes four aspects, the survey time, the object, the purpose and the survey process. The survey results are a kind of presentation by using three methods of the classroom observation, teacher interviews and a questionnaire survey of students. Based on the analysis of the results, I summarize the existing problems of six rural primary school English teachers' classroom teaching lead-in behaviors, that is the lack of lead-in, the improper lead-in time, the single lead-in method and the low lead-in efficiency. These problems of six rural primary school English teachers' classroom teaching lead-in behaviors due to the heavy teaching task and the less teaching hours, the backward rural teaching equipment, the lack of teachers' skill training, the lack of teachers' professional quality, and the influence of traditional teaching ideas. For these reasons, I put forward some suggestions and countermeasures to improve classroom teaching lead-in behaviors of rural primary school English teachers. In terms of educational departments and schools, they should reduce work burden of teachers, strengthen teachers' skill training, improve teachers' professional quality, deepen teachers' New Curriculum concept. In terms of the teachers themselves, firstly they should pay attention to lead-in, secondly they should control the lead-in time well, thirdly they should use a variety of lead-in methods flexibly, at last, they should improve the efficiency of lead-in. The conclusion of this thesis expounds the limitations of the study and the prospect for the future research.
