With the rapid development of science and technology, the computer has been gradually applied to the teaching of English-writing in senior high schools. On the basis of which automatic scoring system has been developed. And it has the function of providing automatic assessment and feedback concerning the students' composition, representing a coming tendency to reflect the research and development of feedback.Although many experts and scholars have done a lot of research on the feedback of English-writing in senior high schools, the domestic research on computer system feedback is few at the present. In this context,it's of great necessity to make in-depth discussions on the feedback of English-writing in senior high schools guided by the automatic scoring system as well as its influence, with the hope of offering some enlightenments and references to the evaluation in the teaching of English writing in senior high schools. The thesis extracts the statistics of the 3650 students from Linfen No.1 Middle School for research subjects—using the Online Automated Scoring System “www.pigai.org”.And it is aimed to answer the following three questions:(1)What significant influences will the feedback of the Online Automatic Scoring System exert on the students' English writing?(2)What do high school students reflect on the using of the Online Automated Scoring System?(3)What are the limitations of the Online Automated Scoring System with regard to the assessment and feedback of the composition? The thesis takes the error statistical data of the first submission of the composition and the final one respectively of all the students registering on the Online Automated Scoring System “www.pigai.org” during the period of 2015.6—2016.3 in Linfen No.1 Middle School as samples. And it starts with the comparative analysis of data in spelling, vocabulary, collocation and sentence. Then,it's expected to investigate the students' attitude towards the feedback that the system offers through the questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study show that the feedback of the Online Automated Scoring System contributes to students' vocabulary and grammar for all its little effect on the overall scores, the number of words and text structure of their compositions.Although such feedback can helps students reduce various kinds of language errors to a great extent,we can't deny that the linguistic knowledge, including the lack of vocabulary as well as relevant background information,Chinglish and the like,is still difficult for students in English writing. For individual students,if one is to complete a single writing task,he tries to improve his composition marks in repeated submitting within the scope of modification.Besides,we find the teacher's feedback can't be fully replaced by the system feedback and that the teacher's roles can't be ignored. Most importantly, students are expecting to get more positive and timely feedback. On balance,it's widely accepted that students are for the feedback that the Online Automated Scoring System “www.pigai.org” offers about their compositions, especially the network feedback(being conductive to the students' vocabulary and grammar).Based on the above conclusions and related theories, the thesis concludes with some suggestions on providing valid feedback to improve students' writing in the teaching of English writing in senior high schools. The respondents show that there still exist some disadvantages of the Juku feedback.Although the system can well identify the language errors in the composition,it cannot deal with the semantics, content and the theme of the article as expected. As a result,it's necessary for the teachers to make up for the shortcomings of the automatic scoring system, offer more thorough, detailed and comprehensive comments with reference to the feedback of the Juku and strive to cultivate students' ideological content as well as textual writing on the basis of the improvement of the students' linguistic knowledge. In addition, some students point that “Juku Online Automated Scoring System” is in need of the peer feedback. And it's suggested to add the indicators of the peer assessment to enhance the students' awareness of readers, independent learning as well as self-assessment and further to train students' critical thinking and analytical skills.
