English writing in senior high school is not only an essential part of English teaching but also plays an irreplaceable role in senior high school. In the process of English teaching in senior high school, English writing is also easily overlooked. The thesis focuses on the issues from the perspective of teachers as well as students, and meanwhile through the case of No.1Senior middle school of Diaobingshan county, it analyzes the problems which arise in the process of teaching and study of English writing and comes up with the corresponding strategies.The dissertation is composed of five parts. The first chapter is the foreword, which focuses on the causes why it is put forward and the significance of selecting the topic as well as the related research and study home and abroad. Moreover, the research methodology is introduced in this chapter as well. The second chapter deals with the characteristic and the present facts of English writing teaching in senior high school together with its significance in the overall English teaching in senior high school. In the third chapter, it mainly analyzes the problems arising in English writing teaching in senior high school and the causes from the perspective of“teaching” and “study”. In the case of No.1 Senior middle school of Diaobingshan county and through the research subject of the twelfth five-year plan in Liaoning province(which was conducted by our department) ——with the focus of English writing teaching in senior high school, research findings are presented in chapter four for the reference of colleagues and accordingly they may get enlightened somehow and further their study in this regard. Finally,Chapter five introduces the corresponding strategies for improving the teaching and study of English writing in senior high school. The teaching and study of English writing in senior high school can be ameliorated through the coordinated efforts of enhancing students' awareness in English writing and the input of English knowledge and reading as well as upgraded teaching methodology. According to the theory of the Input and output balance by Stephen D. Krashen,one can learn a language well only when the input and output of language reaches the balance.Hence, the writing is an important component in the overall study of language and equal attention should be paid to the cultivation of skills in speaking, listening and reading.The importance of English writing of senior high school can be shown not only in the proportion of grades(1/6) in college entrance examination but also a bridge for students' further study of English in college. Experiences and lessons can be drawn from the case of No.1Senior middle school of Diaobingshan county. For the sake of colleagues or counterparts,valuable experiences can be beneficial for their teaching and study in this regard and they can carry on the research in terms of the topic, from which students of senior high school are likely to benefit a lot and lay a solid foundation for future study in this subject.
