Research On The Development Motivations And Path For Internationalization Of Graduate Education In China

As the top of the national education, graduate education is responsible for cultivating top talents as well as innovating science and technology, and it also takes the mission of developing high-level innovative talents with international vision and the knowledge of international rules. So, it is significant to achieving national strategy and supporting the construction of modern country. China has become a world’s graduate education country in amount, but it still needs to improve its international level to become a powerful country in this field. Therefore, it has theoretical and practical significance to study the motivations and path of the internationalization of China’s graduate education based on China’s national strategies.Firstly, this thesis introduces relevant theory concerning the internationalization of graduate education. The connotation of internationalization of graduate education is defined and the evaluation index system of the internationalization of graduate education is construted from both internal dimension and national strategy.Secondly, this thesis analyzes the international development of graduate education in the United States, Japan and the European Union in the aspects of current situation and development strategy and summarizes the key factors regarding their graduate education internationalization processes. Then, to further advance the international development of China’s graduate education,this part indicates that we must highlight its strategic height, focus on the intrinsic factors and build international educational system and standard. Thirldy, on the basis of analyzing the driving forces of the internationalization of graduate education, this part summarizes the different reasons of developing international graduate education in China at different times and analyzes the motivations of developing international graduate education in China faced with new national situation, especially the new national strategies request the internationalization of graduate education. Fourthly, this thesis puts forward the basic ideas of the internationalization of China’s graduate education, including based on domestic and facing the world, drawing lessons from foreign experience and expanding the China’s influence in the world, studying aboard and introducing internatioanl students, developing natioanl strategies as well as upgrading the quality of graduate education. Finally, this thesis analyzes the path of graduate education development in China from some aspects, that is, reveal the strategic height of the internationalization of graduateeducation, promote internationalization of graduate education through multiple subjects, promote the development of graduate education for internatioanl graduate students studying in China, perfect the quality guarantee systeem of internationalization of graduate education. This thesis argues that the development of the internationalization of graduate education in China must highlight its strategic height as well as serve the national strategy closely.
