In China, “the politics has always been inseparable from the history”. Since the ancient times, great importance has been attached to the history education. Official schools in past dynasties all employed the teaching of history as the teaching contents.Such teaching of history directing at the elite class takes aim at better governance of the country, and realization of long-term peace and order. In the current course reform,“integration of politics and history” turns to be an important approach of improving students' comprehensive learning ability, and cultivating research and innovative talents. It is pointed out clearly in New Curriculum Standard for Full-Time Ordinary Senior High School Ideological and Political Course that “the teaching of ideological and political course is connected to the moral education of junior high school,complementary with the education of current affairs and policies, and supporting with the teaching of other disciplines in humanity and social learning, cooperating with other moral education work of the school, so as to realize the goal of political education”. Therefore, senior high school politics teachers shall implement the inter-disciplinary education initiatively.In this paper, four required modules of ideological and political textbooks and three required modules of history textbooks of senior high school PEP edition are selected as the research targets, for discussing the application of senior high school history in the teaching of senior ideological and political teaching. This paper mainlyconsists of four parts. Firstly, it is the introduction, summarizing the causes for the integration of senior high school ideological and political teaching and history teaching, introducing the research status of the integration of history knowledge into the ideological and political teaching, and clarifying the concept of history knowledge,senior ideology and politics, inter-discipline teaching, inter-discipline penetration and discipline integration. Secondly, the significance of applying senior history knowledge in the teaching of senior high school ideological and political teaching is illustrated, and it will be favorable for improving the inefficiency of senior moral education, and increasing the ideological and political subject ability of students, as an effective approach of laying foundation for the life-time learning of students, a realistic demand of the present senior ideological and political teaching, as well as an important means of promoting the rapid growth of teachers' professional quality.Thirdly, contents of the PEP edition ordinary senior high school ideological and political textbooks and history textbooks are sorted out, and presented in the table form, and characteristics of the discipline integration are analyzed from the density,breadth and depth. Fourthly, basic strategies of applying senior history knowledge in the teaching of senior ideological and political teaching are introduced. According to the teaching requirements, history knowledge is integrated for reaching an optimal effect, and diversified approaches are applied for presenting the history knowledge,inspiring students' interest, guiding students to think comprehensively, applying local resources for guiding students to apply what is learnt, and integrating the two disciplines in various forms, such as the club activity and social practice.
