| Number and Algebra are the main content in junior high school mathematics curriculum.Rational Numbers is a bridge to link arithmetic thought and algebraic thought.When first meet negative numbers,students always face many difficulties understanding both the meaning of negative numbers and the operation rules between rational numbers.Further,rational teaching contains several important mathematical thought.For example,using Number Lines to compare the size of number is the start of “symbolic-graphic combination”;absolute value problem is a preliminary to the categorized discussion method.In addition,the learning of function,equation and inequality are based on the rational number operations.Therefore,the understanding and mastery of the rational number is particularly important.Combined PME: mathematics education psychology and Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome theory,understanding is divided into five levels from low to high in this paper,i.e.,Pre-structural level,Uni-structural level,Multi-structural level,Relational level and Extended abstract level.Then this division is used to analyze the common problems of students existing in the understanding of the rational number,and provide the corresponding teaching suggestions.The research object of this paper are seventh grade students which are the first time to study Rational operation.Through the test on the students,examples and major paper of literature in mathematics,the following conclusions are proposed.Firstly,understanding levels affect students’ learning results.Secondly,the higher the level of understanding,the better the learning results.Further,different level of understanding of the problem is not consistent with the overall level.In addition,the student’s understanding of Rational Numbers there are several points inadequate.Based on the above conclusions,the following suggestions are provided to teaching staff:(1)Before teaching,we must first clear the student’s understanding level;(2)We should choose the corresponding teaching strategies and methods according to the student’s understanding level;(3)This paper also shows the advantages of multi-level teaching,the level of understanding is an important approach for teachers to check their teaching results and feedback information so as to implement teaching in view of their students’ reality. |
